Best Headphones

This is how it sounds.

It’s difficult to describe how something sounds without actually hearing it, but as a musician and audio engineer, let me do my best for these headphones. I’ve used them in the quiet, on a plane, and a bus. Here’s the bottom line: If you are – say – a pianist, and you want your headphones to sound exactly like a piano should: you’ll be disappointed. But, if you’re hoping for a solid bass punch for fun, over-engineered pop music: these headphones will do just fine. Actually, this headphone has two different sound qualities – Normal and Noise Cancelling. In the Normal Setting, the mid-bass is doubly over pronounced (like +10db @ 200hz)… it’s a bit boomy, and on the upper end it lacks the crystal brite tones you’d get from a sugar-sweet Bose headphone, or the solid flat response of a Sony MDR. But on the whole, it’s not annoying. If you like acoustic instrumentation and are a snob about what it should sound like, this headphone will fall short. THEN you turn on the Noise Cancellation feature and it’s a whole different sound. The ambient noise that you’re trying to cancel out is dramatically reduced, but ONLY in the mid bass and below. The roar of the airplane will disappear in the Noise Hush, but not the intercommed safety demonstration. Noise Cancellation headphones in general don’t do well removing high frequencies, but are quite good at removing low ones. It’s a long story as to why… BUT for the NoiseHush, the Noise Cancellation feature will increase the high frequency tones (like above 1000Hz) in your music to compensate for the high frequency ambient noise it cannot mask. It leaves the headphone sounding better on the high-end if somewhat brittle. Unfortunately it drains the battery a lot faster. All told, it’s a good portable headphone that is clear and loud. The biggest CON is this: the on/off button is one of the smallest, and if you can find it, it’s a press and hold for five seconds.! Somebody should look in to that. Until then, I’m going to keep wearing these for travel and the gym, but not for serious listening snobbery. Oh, and I had to buy these with real money. Nobody gave them to me so I would say nice things.

FANTASTIC SOUNDS, Crappy UI – Buttons are very hard to feel by touch.

Amazing sound. Simply amazing. I tried these side by side with quite a few competing headphones, and incredibly, these spank most of the competition. These are the of the same sound quality as the Bose headphones retailing for $300. I didn’t get this headset for review of any discount, it’s just purely my opinion for my money. Now I’m not a musician, or audiophile, but I do most certainly enjoy good sound. These are the 7th bluetooth headphones that I’ve purchased, and they are at least 20+ of my headsets. I’m just picky. The Noise cancellation features are phenomenal. Again, on par, or surpassing anything for the same, or double (triple+ in some cases) headsets. They do have one BIG problem – the bluetooth controls. If you’re wearing gloves (and it’s winter where I am) there is no chance whatsoever of being able to tell apart the multifunction button, the previous, and next buttons. The only thing to differentiate the three buttons is a TINY bump on the multifunction button. It’s really not enough, so I find myself needing to go back to my phone to actually do anything. Can’t speak to the durability. The headset is very very light, and fits nicely. I’m hoping that it holds up well to regular use as I intend to use them daily for the forceeable future. Should they not meet expectations I will be sure to update my review. To the manufacturer – You have a winner! Just make the muiltifuction button BIGGER, easier to feel. That’s it. Also the reason I’m taking a star off. Seriously, you just try using these with gloves, even thing ones.

Cheap headset, plastic casing is brittle and will crack and break at the joints. Don’t buy!

The good: The sound is actually not bad. Initially, the headset I’d feel comfortable and had a good feel to it. The bad: After 6 month of light use, I use the headphone in the office to drown out regular offic noise, the plastic housing just cracked at the joints, see attached images. I attempted to communicate with the company, to find out if there is a warranty… no reply. My recommendation, do not buy those headphones. The seller does not provide any support. The plastic casing is so weak that it will be junk in a few month. If you plan to travel with this headset, forget it…

one flight and still happy 🙂

unboxed—look and feel great, nice carrying case and cords. charged for an hour, then: *paired easily to my android phone (and to ipad after I remembered to unpair from phone 🙂 ) *sounds good for classical music— bass is a little exagerated but very smooth *very comfortable *noise cancellation quiets the sound of the dishwasher — that’s all the noise in my environment at this moment Will update after my flight tomorrow Post flight update: Comfortable for the whole 2 hour flight. ANC works really well! Virtually eliminated medium frequency whooshing sound of the engines and the higher pitch hiss of the in cabin air handlers. I happily listened to string quartet music the whole flight with the volume at very comfortable level. Hotel Room update: blocks the noisy Air Conditioner Fan 🙂 One last thing: in an otherwise quiet ambient environment, the music I’m listening to sounds better through these headphones with ANC turned on….with ANC off the sound is a little muffled. These aren’t hifi headphones, but for the price, they’ve made my trip much more comfortable and enjoyable.

1/3 the Price of Bose and Twice the Quality!

Had Bose 325 Noise Cancelling for 10 years, and paid $349 a pair. Loved them. Went through 7 pairs in the 10 years as I travelled the world. At first Bose was pure customer service and would replace parts that broke. Then Bose changed methods and I bought parts. Still okay with me as the product was great. A good friend recommended this product, and I hesitated because of price (how could it be so low?) and lack of customer reviews. I’ve now bought this product and found EVERY PART OF THE PRODUCT SUPERIOR TO BOSE AND A 1/3 OF THE PRICE I highly recommend this product.
